For over a decade I’ve been using Vimeo to host videos of my weddings and elopements, the next annual renewal was coming up this month so I got OpenAI Codex to download each video and upload it to Cloudflare where the hosting costs are about $3 a month. Then I asked Codex to build a website to show the videos and make them downloadable.
It took 20 minutes.
$400 better off a year, plus I have full control instead of Vimeo/Bending Spoons.
I didn’t just use YouTube because these videos aren’t intended for the public. I could make them unlisted, but I don’t need them in the YouTube ecosystem or want YouTube deciding whether they remain available. The end goal is for my clients to download their videos and keep their own copies for offline viewing and personal storage.
If you’d like to do the same, I’ve put together a how-to guide to building your own client video website.

The onboarding for Marco Arment’s new app, Fineliner is beautiful and will make you smile. Long live beautiful app design!
Someone should write a song about how good life can be if you have fried chicken, cold beer, a pair of jeans that fit just right, and the radio up.
I made a photo of a lady playing music to a horse in Mexico in 2023 and it was published in a magazine recently. Never give up on your dreams of making a photo of a horse going to a concert in Baja California Sur.
